Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, Most Haunted, Pschic Kids, Ghost Hunters International, The Othersiders, Ghost Adventurers; and the list continues to grow. Television programming is one of the truest gauges of a nation's cultural beliefs. The success of these kinds of shows indicates that America is fascinated by the paranormal. On a deeper level it shows that, as science continues to expel God from acceptable thought and speach, we are even more hungry to experience the supernatural. Yet, the church seems to leave many questions unanswered.
76% of Americans believe in the paranormal. At least one third of all Christians admit that they believe in ghosts despite most of them being told "there are no such thing as ghosts" or "all ghosts are demons in disguise". That number is much higher for Christians under the age of 50. . . possibly as high as 51% of Christians ages 18-49 believe in the possibility of ghosts. Even though a large portion of Christians believe in ghosts, the subject remains taboo. 80% of Christian youths say that they have never been taught anything about the paranormal in church.
How can so many Christians believe in something that flies in the face of many church doctrines? Perhaps those doctrines do not address the wealth of personal experiences that many Americans claim to have had. Perhaps those doctrines are more an attempt to explain the unexplainable rather than a true honest examination of the Scripture and what it has to tell us about the world of the paranormal.
This site is still in it's pre-launch phase. We are working hard behind the scenes to provide Christians who seek answers about the paranormal with resources to aid them in their quest.
Are you a Christian who is curious about the paranormal but is afraid to ask questions for fear of judgment? Are you a Christian interested in becoming a paranormal investigator? Are you a Christian who has had an experience with something you cannot explain? Check back here often.
